Vivid red and pink rose motifs frame this beautiful still life of eight cerise poppies.
Playfully picked from the garden these poppies open and bloom amongst their moss green stems and buds whilst shining brightly in a deep fuchsia vase.
Jodie was inspired by traditional Mexican images of Saint Guadalupe and Baz Luhrmann‘s film, Romeo and Juliet when painting is still life. Moved by the words of William Shakespeare- “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”.
