This artwork is inspired by lazy afternoons spent in Bangalow after ocean swims, antique and flower market shopping.
Lemon yellow tulips, marigold and sunshine coloured poppies are placed loosely in an antique terracotta jug, surrounded by blue vases and a plate of lemons.
I wanted to play with a different composition by placing the table diagonally across the canvas and painting vibrant yellow lemons and poppies in both corners of the artwork. Bold black lines intensify the objects in this piece.
This painting celebrates the simple pleasures in life; flowers, food and coming together as one.
